Temporary Track Closures
14 October 2011
Some tracks in the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park will be closed from 14 October to 12 December 2011 to help prevent the spread of kauri dieback disease.
Regional park staff are treating this as a trial to see what
impact visitors have on the spread of the disease, which is
devastating our kauri forests, and how effective track closures are
in managing it.
The affected tracks are:
- Robinson Ridge Track
- Wainamu Bush Track
- Walker Kauri Track
- Summit Track
- Crusher Pipe Track
- Destruction Gully
- La Trobe Track
- Lucy Cranwell Track
- Forbes Track.
To find an alternative route for your walk in the
Waitakere Ranges see our website, drop into the Arataki
Visitor Centre on Scenic Drive or phone the centre on 09 817
0088.
