Kauri Karnival: a great family day out!

The Kauri Karnival is a new event developed with support from the Waitakere Ranges Local Board to celebrate kauri in West Auckland.

This free inaugural event was held at Parrs Park in amongst the long grasses and in the shade of the trees. Along with awesome kids games, wood chopping demonstrations, music and entertainers there were many activities aimed at raising awareness of environmental issues.

With over 1,600 people attending throughout the day, this first Kauri Karnival has proved a great success!
